The abundance of Renewable Energy sources in South Africa, coupled with skyrocketing energy prices has created an awakening giant in the form of small scale Renewable Energy harvesting. Many of these new technologies are becoming financially viable options for many businesses and private individuals. 


The Nelson Mandela University have assembled a suite of short courses to educate individuals in the field of Renewable Energy.

Each course is offered intensively over a 5 day period and is accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) for Continuous Professional Development points (CPD).

All courses are R7 300.00 VAT exempt



All candidates must have a scientific background.

Please note that all courses are engineering based.

Potential Assessments:

  • 4 short (20 minutes) multiple choice tests
  • 1 general test (to cover to entire course content - roughly 45 minutes)
  • 1 group assignment with assessed presentation (to be delivered on the last day)

What you need to bring with you:

All attendees are required to bring their own laptop and a calculator

What you will receive:

  • Lunch
  • Refreshments during the day
  • Pen and Paper
  • NMU SLP Certificate of completion (Given that a pass mark was achieved) or; a NMU Certificate of Attendance (If the pass mark was not achieved)
  • The certificate will be posted
