The Advanced Mechatronics Technology Centre (AMTC) recently hosted  Universities from South, West to East Africa in presenting a Siemens Automation Cooperates with Education (SCE) Training programme.  The AMTC is an accredited service provided to Siemens to provide industry standard training in Factory Automation and Drives to the Manufacturing and Related Engineering Industries within the Eastern Cape.

Due to its long-standing co-operation it has been contracted to provide training to provide SCE training to African Universities, the universities that attended the SCE training 25 - 29 th June 2018 were:

University of Lagos

KENYA:

Dedan Kimathi University Of Technology (Dekut)

SOUTH AFRICA:

Mangosuthu University of Technology (Durban)

Northlink College (Cape Town)

GHANA

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

TANZANIA

Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology

Prof Theo van Niekerk was the facilitator and presented topics relating to Factory Automation namely: S7-1200 PLC, Visualization, Remote Communications and Drives.
